The Queen is dead:

She of the long toes
of the whip-hard tail
of the imperious command
at close of her toilette-

She of the seven-toed foot
of brown velvet ears
of dark eyes made large
with intelligence and desire-

She at last of the vertigo
of silence and blurred vision
of legs that would no longer
do all her bidding-

Her loving servants, we
of long years her own
of broader and deeper service
these last several months-

We mourn her.
We erect a statue to her.
We remember her forever.

The Queen is dead.

Long live The King!

I am sorry for your loss. It never gets easy losing our fur babies and their time with us is always so short.

  4. Sheri says:

Our boy is gone now too. We had to say goodbye on Thursday.

So what do you think?
