Oceanic Tankas

Choppy seas spin foam
mirrored on blue plains above-
monsters loom below-
Mapping those Leviathans
took the first half of my life.

Undersea lava
flows and freezes- builds islands-
Taking my own life
means building on this island
becoming my own lighthouse.

Rolling in hot sand
sea creatures’ imprints on skin-
built us like lovely lava
as we climbed together.

From here I can see
event horizons coming-
changes, green, for us to map-
each other’s cartographers.
