Evasive Action

Noun. evasive action – an action taken to escape from something (an opponent or a pursuer or an unpleasant situation) by some clever or skilled maneuver.

These words are anchors-
holding me steady
balancing what hurts
rooting tomorrow in today.

These words are buoyancy-
bubbling up from dark waters
washing the dirt away
letting the gold gleam.

These words are memory-
putting away joy
salvaging this moment’s grace
lending it to any dark day.

This is how to evade
pains already here
fears for dim futures
sadnesses not yet born.

This piece fely complete, like a journey of thought that was able to run its course. I liked the contrast and development from anchor to buoyancy to memory. There was enough imagery as well as abstract suggestions to make it a full-fledged poem, as a springboard for more muse-triggers if another poet (such as myself) reads it. Kudos!

So what do you think?
