Bon Anniversaire!

On this day but thirty years ago,
You woke my body from an anxious trance,
Your touch a revelation, sudden sun,
The music to which I’d forever dance.
Tne prison made of sorrow and of fear
Remained a little while (the cage was strong),
But as your fingers stroked me back to life,
My mind and heart must follow soon along.
All things in life must change: we’re different now,
Our bodies bear less strength, but love’s no less!
The ties that bind my heart and soul to you
Are stronger than my body can express.
With age, love brings a different kind of heat,
A kind of sex with which youth can’t compete!
