Spring Sun Sonnet

Welcome now the open-windowed season;
Come into the Sun with me and play;
All the games that live outside of reason
Winterlong are ready for their day.
First, the promenade of bees and children
Weary of their long captivity,
Hum and sing their music made of laughter
Loosed now in the light’s tranquility.
There is room for us as well, so come, run
In the Sun’s embrace now while it’s bright;
Soon enough, the cold returns to chill us;
Come outside and celebrate the Light!
We’ll grow with each food plant, every flower,
Starting now, in Spring’s first shining hour!
