Explanation, a sonnet

As Winter ends, my thoughts move underground,
Coil with the earthworms, see what they have found
To love beneath the crust of ice and snow
That keep them warmish as the wild winds blow.
In silence now I bury seeds as deep
As they desire to awake from sleep
Of months or even years for some-all to
Wake slowly, nudge up seeking light anew.
The language of the soil takes precedence
In Spring around and in this residence:
The poetry of leaf and stem subsumes
The rest until what flowers in warm air blooms.
So then my words return to document,
Record this lovely life that Life has sent.
