Dog, the Mentor (a song)

Fractal trees dance in the breeze
this chilled late Winter day-
The wind’s too cold for even bolder
dogs to go and play,
So here they sleep, their slumber deep,
their paws and noses twitching.
They wake a while only to smile
and scratch what started itching.

If only we could be as free
to live according to
the weather, taking naps whenever
rain and snow blow through,
then we might know, enjoy and show
the happy attitude
of such a creature whose life features
only smiling moods.
