Magic

All the magic in my world:
the radar-dish ears of a doe,
the delicacy of wind blown snow,
the auburn on the throat of the sparrow,
tendrils reaching as snow peas grow,
the immeasurable love your eyes show,

All these spells cast from your rich heart,
Rooted in the deep living soil of your mind,
Informed by the gentle touch of your spirit–

They overwhelm the space I have to house them,
overbalance love’s counting house entirely,
render into nothingness all past sadnesses,
even guide into invisibility weaknesses I mourned
until, shaped fresh into my own dream,
I can breathe to sing for you all my life.
