Time and Touch

I had a body once
Yes, this one here
Whose edges are transparent
Whose center doesn’t hold.

I failed to love it then
While it was solid
While it loved me
And did all I asked.

Now only you find it
Only you can touch it
It is solid under your hands
Only in your hands.

Is it this body?
This one in the blessed Now
You touch when you touch me?
That you make real again?

Or does your touch transport
Us both to the Before
When I was opaque
In your eyes and hands?
