Sonnet for the Return

Ritual in morning sun or night,
No matter whether heavy touch or light,
Its absence these few weeks leaves us both shaken
Until our rituals can reawaken.
There’s music in our silences and looks,
Such mysteries as read in holy books,
As eyes and happy hands melt into touch
Of warm, smooth landscapes that they love so much.
These landscapes form the planet where we grow
Our life, our joy, each seed of song we sow;
All this is One: the love-enhanced shared mind
And bodies growing old thus intertwined.
So we soon to our mutual home return
And find again the light with which we burn.

    Oh my Jane. This is by far your most magical poem. It flows like running water. It warms my heart. 🙂
