Lessons

Living cuts pieces
From all of us,
Rearranges our selves
Pushing
Pulling
Molding
Muting
Until we fit where
We need to be.

No use complaining,
Crying about the blood;
There’s enough still in there
Pumping
Thumping
Rolling
Flowing
To keep us going,
Growing our own shelter.

Letting go helps,
Shows the healing path
We can take if we choose:
Beckoning,
Shining,
Singing,
Playing
To teach us how
To join every dance.
