Song on the Occasion of My Son’s Birthday

This day shines
With the light of redemption:

So many years ago today,
A tornado of light
Came screaming into my world;
A fresh universe began to build
A peninsula for a while,
Then a continent of his own.

How can a child save his mother’s life?
How can chaos turn to peace and love?
With what language can I sing this song?
Can there be greater happiness than this?:
The child who was born on this day
Has, through his own child, learned my joy.

    I love that last line!! so true. I read a quote somewhere, don’t remember the author but it said something like “I never knew how much my mother loved me until I kiss my newborn daughter’s check” so true! lovely poem, I’m sure you son will treasure it always! love and peace to you and yours… Michelle
