Messy

Being human’s messy:
Loving the deepening snow
That threatens the little rabbit
That you then feed
That in summer eats the garden.

There are simpler ways of being:
Being frozen to avoid feeling,
Loving the tiny creatures
Instead of messy people,
Never letting summer in.

Let me be messy!
Let me shoot my own foot,
Laugh at my foolishness,
Love the sweaty summer
As the frozen winter.

I like my mismatched socks.

I wish for the courage to be messy.
