Facebook Sonnet

Such fireworks of heartfelt, deep affection!
So many protestations of devotion!
So many words of love from all directions,
More than the numbered fish in all the oceans!
These pixilated promises and pictures
Of tears and smiles and memories all shared
Have none of the inconvenient strictures
The real world would impose. Those can be spared
As long as one is careful to avoid the
Uncomfortably real and harsh concerns
Of face-to-face relationships, annoying,
Imperfect people one should always spurn.
So spray undying love cliches before you!
Why, after all, let those real people bore you?
